You may have seen this advertised, but it's on on Sunday night on ABC1 at 8-30pm. I seem to remember it was 90mns, so it would finish about 10pm. What a
coincidence it should be on when I just mentioned it! This is the first time it's been repeated.

It also has Kelly McDonald, who plays the part of 'the girl' but I thought she had another part, but in the promos it seems that it is her in that
role.(you may remember her as Della, the Scottish jounalist in State Of Play)...

Bill Nighy didn't play a gay person in Love Actually. He played an almost washed up Rock Star who was something of a frustration for his manager/agent. I
don't think they were gay - just very good friends from a very long working relationship.

I do think Bill played his character very well in The Girl in the Cafe but having seen him mostly play confident characters, it seemed very odd and not like
him at all.

I would watch it again at some point.

No, you didn't comment on it, as you can see. I think Bill Nighy plays that type of character very well - I think it suits him, but, then, he played the
boss very well in 'State Of Play' and the gay person in 'Love Actually' which shows his diversity!
I wondered if Kathy ever watched any of the British dramas I send. I thought it fizzled a bit too, but it showed that they were maybe going to keep in touch,
and she did make a difference! You may get more from the...

I could have sworn I'd already written about this?

Both Kathy and I watched this and thought it was quite good. Really weird seeing Bill Nighy play such a introverted and painfully self conscious character.

It's been a while since we watched it so I can't really go into detail about what I thought. I do remember I thought the ending was a little weak...
kind of fizzled out but not enough to spoil the story.

I take it you will have watched this DVD by now, but haven't heard what you thought of it? I've seen it three times now. I first saw it on the TV, and
it was good, but didn't know if I wanted to buy it or not. They repeated it, as I said in my previous post, but at a later time than usual, and I watched
it, and enjoyed it better the second time around.

I didn't go to the carols thing when James Morrison was on - though I would've if we'd decided to go that year. We could hear him from our backyard
anyway - 'cause we live that close to the church (not loud but you can hear if you listen).

When we do go to the carols it really doesn't matter who the featured act is, we just go for the atmosphere and the fireworks mostly. They usually have a
few carnival rides and plenty of places to buy food and drink for tea.

That's the James Morrison I was thiniking of, but said 'singer' as well incase there was someone with the same name, as I didn't think that
type of musician would be your cup of tea. I'm not one for jazz, but don't mind the clarinet, such as Acker Bilk (from the 60s, but still going I
think, and his music is still out) and don't mind Glen Miller stuff, but not heavy jazz.
Paulini didn't win but she was a final twelve runner up on Australian Idol and has a fairly successful singing career ever since. I'm not much of a fan
but it was free so worth a look. She didn't really sing anything other than Christmas Carols (which all the acts at this event do rather than sing their
hits).

Probably better to be going to a Carols By Candlelight than watching TV! There was one on in Gosnells the same night in Pioneer Park, which I wouldn't
mind to have gone to, as I haven't been to one for years. It would have been light going, but dark coming back.
Two ladies from my O.W.N group were going, and one only lives across the road from Homestead Rd, in Hartley St, and she is picked up by her friend Betty who

I wouldn't mind watching this but I don't think I'll be able to as we're going out that night - provided it doesn't rain. Going to a Carols
thing at a nearby Church just because it's free, always has at least one fairly big name star and is usually a good show that ends with fire works. This
year it's Paulini from Australian idol. Last year they had James Morison.
