Thought I'd do a bit of a review for you on this movie...

Film synopsis from IMDB:

"The Boat That Rocked" is an ensemble comedy in which the romance takes place between the young
people of the '60s and pop music. It's about a band of rogue DJs that captivated Britain, playing the music that defined a generation and standing up
to a government that, incomprehensibly, preferred jazz. The Count, a big, brash, American god of the airwaves; Quentin, the boss of...

I did see the Seekers version but didn't listen to it. Not that big a Seekers fan either and I was already listening to a song I'd never heard before
(except for a bit in this movie).
Our projector broke down on a double movie feature fund raising night so it was kind of already a see two movies for the price of one deal already. Hard to
complain about. Anyhow, the replacement film we saw was Ironman which I'd planned to see anyway (more so than the movie that broke...

Yes, well, it was 1965, although you have heard of The Beatles and other 60s artistes, some still performing, such as The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart etc, but
then, The Beatles are another matter! Just about everyone has heard of them, whether they were born or not!

Francoise Hardy was only on the scene for that brief time in the UK anyway, so unless you really latched onto that song in the 60s, you wouldn't know
about her, especially if you weren't born! I think she was...

I'm not familiar with Francoise Hardy at all. Never heard of her or seen her anywhere to know who she is. Well before my time I think. Not even that
familiar with the song that you've linked to - though it is very nice.

I don't actually remember a lot about this film other than vague recollections of the overall story. Few of the characters were that memorable or on screen
long enough to remember them.
You were lucky to see the rest of the film if the projector...

I saw this film quite awhile ago about a week after you put this review on, I think, which was in April, and I didn't get to comment on it 'til now, so
my recollection of some of it is a bit hazy. (I've got the IMDB icon on my Desk Top, but I don't think I'm signed up, just went to read, as
it's very informative for films etc)
